World Cup 3

I'm sorry to all for the late updates on the blog, I have been trying really hard to get my new website going and for some reason i have had no luck in doing so. Its been really difficult trying to get it live.

However i am in Europe and have done a few races. I am now in Germany gearing up for world cup 3 and have been training with a couple of french. Which has been really good. however my english has become some what simple. haha

I will keep everyone updated on here from now on.

Australia here i come...

Well after an amazing Christmas with the family and friends I decided to take a short trip across the ditch to our Ozzy buddies.


After arriving safley in Australia I headed out to the mighty Penrith (West Sydney) where I plan to spend the next 2 weeks training through the new year... my aim being to get some good time on this artifical course in gearing up for the Australian Open late February and my European campaign later in the year.

Bill Ross Memorial Race - Wairoa River

Well the New Zealand Season officially kicked off over the weekend with a fun race in memory of the late Bill Ross. In true New Zealand style the sky's opened up and down came the rain and boy did it come down, with 20mls per hour.... However we managed to get the race up and running asap to get in before the the river flooded.

The weekends racing was an interesting one for me. I Felt like i did two not so good runs with mistakes but got to the end still feeling relatively fresh, which was mixed emotions. But I'm still touching gates which is something that i have to stop in the new year in order to really do well on the world circuit next year.

New Home in Rotorua = Great beginings

I have decided to take the plunge and finally migrate to Rotorua which has become some what of the main Training center in New Zealand for Canoe Slalom.
As we are coming into summer its the place to be with the Kaituna river for Kayaking and the redwoods for Mountain Biking and Running and that's just the beginning.


Wairiki Acadamy of Sport have been kind enough to take me under their wings and are helping me with all the Strength & Conditioning side of things so that I hit the circuit next year ready to kick some European butt.


Although I have moved over here its no holiday as I'm still working part time and studying hard for my up and coming examinations in November.

Icebreaker

As the New Zealand Winter is drawing to an end i am happy to welcome Icebreaker to my support team. Icebreaker have come on board in supporting me with some awesome Marino wool clothing, to get me through those cold mornings on the river.
